EBG charging cable type 2 (for charging station) to type 2 (for the car) for charging of electrical vehicles and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with up to 32A (7,4kW / 1-phase) and 32A 3-phase 400V (22kW). EBG charging cable is developed and designed with a focus on safety and is class-leading UL and CE certified equipment that is recognized, reliable and proven. The charging cables are built in accordance with all import regional standards - IEC for Europe, J1772 for America and GB for China.

Current Carrying Capacity The charging pins in the charging plugs are silver-plated for optimal current carrying capacity- reducing the risk of overheating. |
Light and Handy The type 2 plug is light-weight and is comfortable to use. The included rubber caps protect the plugs against dirt and dust while in storage. The charging cable will also lock to the charging station and the car during charging so that it cannot be disconnected by unauthorized persons. |
Practical Plugs Ergonomically patterned handle provides a better grip while in use so that it is easier to connect and disconnect the charging plug. Drainage holes in the bottom of the plug reduce the risk of the plug freezing sold while in colder climates. Quality control of the plugs ensure low contact resistance and makes connecting and disconnecting effortless. |

EBG's charging cable fits electric cars and plug-in hybrids with a type 2 charging connector (e.g. Renault ZOE, Polestar 1/2, Mercedes B-class electric Drive and Tesla Model S/X/3) and fits charging stations with a type 2 outlet/contact. The charging cable is secured against theft and supports both auto lock. The charging cable will also lock to the charging station during charging and cannot be detached by unauthorized persons. Drain holes in the bottom of the charging gun/plug eliminate the plug from freezing in the socket. The plug also is equipped with a rubberized handle for better grip. The charging cable has a unique rubber compound that has been tested in various climates and remains soft and easy to handle even in sub-zero temperatures. At the same time, it is robust and can withstand being run over.

Questions and Answers
Do I need a type 2 to type 2 cable?
The need depends on your usage pattern and whether you live around places that have installed charging points with a type 2 outlet. There are beginning to be more of these in Oslo because it provides increased security. At the same time, there is a lot of wear and tear, increased maintenance and more use of the schuko contact. Thus it is only a matter of time before the majority of charging points in the capital consist of type 2 connectors. If you have both this cable and mode 2 charging cable (e.g. the supplied charging cable) in the car, you can charge your car in most places.
How do I use the type 2 to type 2 charging cable?

Which amperage of the charging cable should I choose? 32A or 16A?
Generally speaking, we would recommend a 32A charging cable as this is more forward-looking if you choose to change your electric car or plug-in hybrid at a later time.
Will a 32A charging cable work with 16A charging stations and cars with a maximum 16A charger in the car?
Yes, it is backwards compatible and a 32A charging cable will work with 16A charging stations. Cars with maximum 16A on-board charger will also work with a 32A charging cable, but will only charge with maximum 16A.
